Treatments
IVF (In Vitro Fertilization)
It is the fertilization process of egg and sperm outside the body (in a laboratory environment). The collected samples from the female and male are fertilized and monitored by expert embryologists for 5 days.
The most suitable embryos are transferred to the mother’s uterus to initiate pregnancy. Remaining embryos, if any, can be frozen for future use.
ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection)
In cases where sperm count or quality is low, the best single sperm is selected and injected directly into the egg under a microscope to achieve fertilization.
PGD / PGS
Embryos created in the laboratory can be tested before transfer to identify genetic disorders or birth defects.
On the third day of embryo development, a biopsy can be taken and tested for genetic abnormalities.
Screening for aneuploidy,
Single-gene disorders,
Chromosomal translocations
As a result, more than 400 genetic diseases can be diagnosed.
PGD can be used to determine whether an embryo carries a genetic disorder already known to exist in one or both parents.
PGS is performed when there are no known genetic disorders in the parents, to screen for possible inherited abnormalities.
Egg Donation
A method that uses donor eggs for couples who do not have eggs of sufficient quality or quantity.
This method is suitable for women with decreased egg quality or number due to advanced age,
early menopause,
Patients whose ovaries have been affected following chemotherapy, radiotherapy or surgery,
Couples seeking healthy eggs due to genetic disorders they carry are eligible for this method.
Egg donor candidates may be accepted for egg donation after being screened for any chromosomal disorders, having clean blood tests for infectious diseases, having appropriate hormone tests, and being questioned about any mental or genetic disorders in their family.
If you wish, you may select your own donor from among your acquaintances, provided they meet the necessary criteria.
If you would like us to select a donor for you, you can trust us to find the donor best suited to you and your preferences.
(Donors’ identities remain anonymous in accordance with the law.)
Sperm Donation
Couples in which the male partner does not have sufficient quantity or quality of sperm,
Single mothers,
It is a method used for lesbian couples.
Sperm obtained from certified overseas sperm banks, which undergo detailed testing for diseases, is used for the procedure.
(Donors’ identities remain anonymous in accordance with the law.)
Embryo Donation
This method is used when both partners are unable to use their own eggs and sperm due to age, genetic disorders or other medical conditions.
Fresh Embryo Transfer or
Frozen Embryo Transfer options are available.
Tandem
The IVF procedure involves using both your eggs and eggs obtained from a donor. After the eggs obtained from you and the donor are fertilised, the resulting embryos are examined and the most suitable embryos are transferred according to your decision. The selected embryos may be a combination of only your embryos, only the donor’s embryos, or a combination of both your and the donor’s embryos.
Gender Selection
Thanks to techniques such as Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) or Preimplantation Genetic Screening (PGS) used during IVF treatments, it has become possible to determine the sex of embryos before their transfer.
Gender selection is a very common option in Cyprus for medical reasons (diseases that can be transmitted via the X or Y chromosomes), balancing the family structure, cultural factors or emotional reasons.
Egg Freezing
The changing conditions of our era require new solutions to new demands. When women plan to become mothers in later years due to career or life choices, it is possible to collect healthy eggs at a young age and store them for use at a later date.
This option offers patients who may require chemotherapy or radiotherapy, or who may need surgery on their ovaries, the chance to have healthy children in the future.
Sperm Freezing
Before starting treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy that will permanently damage sperm cells, before undergoing a vasectomy, if there is a decrease in sperm count or deterioration in quality due to factors such as age, smoking, or exposure to chemical agents, or if extra healthy sperm cells have been obtained from a sample taken for IVF treatment, you may consider freezing your sperm for future use.
